Artist's Comments

Yeah, so I wasted an entire day on this piece (I had so many other things I had to do, but I couldn't get this image out of my head...grrr....)

Anyways, it was rendered in DAZ|Studio [link], the render took 3 1/2 hours (more grrrrrr). It's my vision of a valkyrie of the future. Her outfit is a prototype of one of the textures I'll be offering for Angel Blade.

Models: Aiko 3.0 LE [link] and Comet [link]
Skin: Vianne [link] and my own
Outfit: Angel Blade [link], plus the Fetish Bra and Shinobi Pants by Lelu here on DA
Texture: my own
Backdrop: Random image from the web

Also, that's the Bun Hair from [link] under the hat - I liked the idea of being able to see bangs beneath her visor.

Tell me what you think!

Great job on this, I really like the texturing and pose. The backdrop fits well :)

Light and Dark are both extremes, only from the shadows can we see both sides.

Not bad, really! I like that outfit, I'm sure, your texture will look great.

nicely done. must have been the reflections that killed your render time. my understanding of using the USMP is that when there is less light, use higher ambience. i found high ambience gives a multi-light scene that fashion post-processed feel as well.

i really like this one! its like shes some celestial being riding though space! one thing i would say is- and im not sure if you agree- but in the illustration book im reading it says not to crop off an image at the knee or the elbow. but i think you mita gotten away with it because its not the main character of the picture.

I agree, but I think the basic idea is to avoid making it look like the character could be doing something weird with their limbs out of frame. Really, so long as you can tell what the leg is doing, it's not a big deal.

I found that a higher ambiance with this particular skin gave it a funny metallic look when rendered, so I lowered it to medium. Thanks for the compliments, and yeah, it was the reflections that did it. But they look so COOL! lol :giggle:

thanks - I'm debating the leather boots, but metal boots looked even weirder....*sigh* decisions, decisions.

thank you very much! I've used this backdrop before on my Starlight Goddess render, it's so much fun to light that I decided to use it again. :-)
